END OF CHALLENGE: It was around this time, roughly the 10th Dec that I decided to concede the challenge. I had a roadmap - if perfectly executed – that would result in Platinum #152 on December 31st. Given the Christmas period and other life events, this would have been close to impossible. Instead of trying and failing, getting annoyed at myself in the process, calling it quits early made sense.
Overall, a decent effort that could have done with being refined. My time management could have been a lot better though considering I needed a third of my titles in the last month which isn’t great for a challenge that’s supposed to last an entire year.
This is also the announcement of 52 in 52: Year 2. Same rules apply as this year but ideally I’m a lot more consistent with it. Perhaps I might make it a little different – I did consider being a lot more strict with the 4 a month rather than that being a healthy pace but then thought maybe that’s too harsh. Instead, it’s 52 in 52 as it was but with the additional challenge: At the end of every month, I check to see if I have the 4 (or 6 for two months) platinums. If I do it’s a point, if not then no point. I must end the year with 7 or more points. Just to add an extra layer of arbitrary to a challenge.
I’m not sure how I’m going to present this challenge next year but check in for the first week of 2026 to see some kind of results from this. Maybe it’ll be monthly, who knows. Thanks for reading.
